Have You Considered Adoption?

The beauty of having options in life is the chance to make the choice that’s right for you. Maybe abortion is not an option, but you also don’t feel ready to parent. Adoption could be the best option if you struggle with finances or life circumstances.

What is Adoption?

Adoption is the legal process of transferring the rights and responsibilities of being a parent from a birth couple to an adoptive couple. The child becomes permanently and legally part of the adoptive family, with full rights to inheritance and a lifetime family relationship.

As a pregnant woman or birth mom, you need to take your time to choose the right family to raise your child. No one should ever force or manipulate you into placing your child for adoption.

Are There Different Types of Adoption?

There are three types of adoption plans you can choose. The amount of contact you want with your potential adoptive family determines your chosen plan.

Open Plan

When choosing open adoption, you are able to be much more involved with your child and their family. Both parties exchange full names, addresses, or phone numbers, and you communicate openly through texts, emails, phone calls, or letters.

An open Plan allows you to pick the potential adoptive family. If you’d like, you can even arrange a meeting with them before the baby is born.

Open adoption can allow you to continue on the life path you had before pregnancy while still being involved in the life of your child.

Closed Plan

To have complete anonymity, you choose a closed adoption. No identifying information is shared, and once the adoption is finalized, you’ll have no other contact with the adoptive family.

A closed adoption can be the safest for you and your child if you’re in a hostile situation.

Semi-Open Plan

You only share first names with the potential adoptive couple but do not meet them during the process. All communication you have is through a third party.

This plan is perfect for women who want some contact and updates on their children, but still want to remain anonymous.
